Our programs are grass roots, community based.  It is the goal of Feed A Healthy Mind to go from community to community first locally and then globally to spread our message to ensure everyone has a fighting chance at a healthier future.

Volunteer

Our founder, Melissa Sherwood, is a culinary instructor whose passion is working with children of all ages to teach healthy eating, nutrition and cooking to combat obesity and diabetes.    Melissa has seen the need for nutritional outreach to school aged children and has been teaching classes for the past seven years in, public and private schools, daycare centers, home school groups and as an instructor at Anne Arundel Community College.

Together we can stop childhood hunger, decrease the rates of childhood diabetes and obesity.  Volunteer today and start making a difference in a child's life.

We strive to serve individuals and families hardest hit by the alarming rates of food insecurity, childhood obesity and Type II diabetes.  Drawing strength from our local and national communities, global partners, resources and experience, we promote innovative solutions and are advocates for healthy lifestyles. Together we can facilitate lasting change.
